During the counselling process, a lawyer may review relevant laws, regulations, and case law, as well as gather and analyse evidence, interview witnesses, and develop a strategy for resolving the dispute. The lawyer may also discuss potential settlement options with the client, as well as the costs and benefits of going to trial.
